Planning appeal update

We can confirm that we have been unsuccessful in our attempts to challenge a decision to overturn our refusal of a planning application in Sonning Common.

In June 2020, we refused an application for a care village of 133 homes at Little Sparrows, Sonning Common. The developer appealed, and the planning inspector overturned our decision and granted the application planning permission.

We applied to the High Court for permission to challenge this decision, but our application was refused, so requested an appeal hearing to state the case in person. We made this case at the High Court on 9 December, but were unsuccessful.

The council is now considering its options.
