Active Communities strategy

The Active Communities strategy was approved by the Cabinet in the Summer of 2022.

The strategy is a brand new approach to health and wellbeing developed by ourselves in partnership with Vale of White Horse District Council to help our residents come together to take part in sport, health and recreational activities that improve their physical and mental wellbeing, while forging stronger social links within their local communities.

The councils are now looking into where there are currently gaps in what activities are already provided, and to develop active community partnership networking across the two districts, and ultimately provide the support the districts’ residents need to Be Active, Be Healthy and Be Happy.
