Rudy the musical reindeer stars in Christmas production
Follow the adventures of a talented reindeer in a crowd rouser of a Christmas show ‘The Ballad of Rudy’ this December at the Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot.
Following the resounding success of their partnership in previous years, Cornerstone are once again teaming up with the Goblin Theatre team to bring a magical Christmas tale to life that they’re promising will inspire the entire family.
The Ballad of Rudy follows the story of Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer but with a twist! In this story Rudy doesn’t have a red nose; rather it’s his talent for exciting new music that sets him apart from all the other reindeer. Together with a magical Jazz Penguin he goes on an adventure that teaches him that life isn’t about following the herd.
Cllr Maggie Maggie Filipova-Rivers, Cabinet member for community wellbeing at South Oxfordshire District Council, which runs Cornerstone, says: “We’re really excited to bring such a fun and magical tale to the arts centre for everyone to enjoy. It’s been two years since the last Christmas show so we will be offering an extra warm welcome back! I’ve booked my ticket and am really looking forward to the show.”
This year’s show is directed by Matt Hassall and written by Matt Borgatti, the writer of Cornerstone’s previous Christmas shows, including the highly popular The Adventures of Pinocchio and The Pied Piper.
Funny, warm and with a big heart, this show features live music, original songs and lots of imagination which is guaranteed to have children aged three and up mesmerised from start to finish. Cornerstone is inviting everyone to come share in the festivities.
The Nourish café will be open before and after the show with lots of options for the whole family. Come beforehand and grab one of their new bagels or treat yourself after the show curtains close by indulging in a hot chocolate with one of their locally sourced cakes.
