Privacy Notice and our car parks
We are committed to maintaining your privacy and for managing the car park service.
Our parking services are managed on our behalf by our partner Saba – please see their privacy policy.
Ourselves and SABA working on behalf of the council, may collect personal data from you, such as vehicle registration number, images of your vehicle, name, address, email address, telephone numbers.
Privacy notice for the issuing of excess charge notices (car park fines)
When you obtain a ticket from the machine or purchase parking time via the connect pay by phone, app or web, we ask for your vehicle registration number to help us with the enforcement of the car park. Only when our partner saba issue penalty charge notices do they take the details of the vehicle including images and the vehicle registration number so that we can process your car park penalty charge notice (fine).
We may also use personal data in correspondence when you contact us.
This personal information may be passed to companies we work with such as the DVLA who will provide us with the details of the registered keeper of the vehicle, to CAPITA and Chipside who will take payments, to the national adjudication body (PATROL – parking and traffic regulations outside of London), TEC – the traffic enforcement centre or debt recovery companies and the Police.
We have a duty to perform this public task of enforcing the public car park under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004. We are also legally required to keep these records for up to six years.
You have the right to request at any time:
- what data we hold about you; please refer to our webpage on data subject access requests, as you may wish to use our specific form for this.
- that incorrect or out of date information about you be corrected.

Our records, and those of our contractors/partners, are regularly monitored by auditors to ensure your information is kept securely and used only for the purposes mentioned above.
