Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Grant Fund – opening January 2026
South Oxfordshire District Council collects CIL funding from liable housing developments to provide infrastructure required to support the growth of the district. Through this grant scheme, we’re helping local organisations to access this funding to deliver infrastructure for their community required as a direct result from local growth.
How much is available and what can it be used for?
The council has allocated £750,000 from its CIL funds towards this grant scheme to support eligible organisations to deliver projects for provision, expansion or improvement of infrastructure to support the growth the district.
Funding requests should focus on demonstrating how the infrastructure project(s) is required to support the growth of the area and also how this meets the council’s corporate priorities.
Who can apply?
- Town and Parish Councils
- Constituted community groups
- Not for profit organisations
Who isn’t eligible?
- Oxfordshire County Council
- Integrated Care Board
- Profit based businesses
- Projects for residential buildings
- Groups who raise funds on behalf of or will improve/create facilities that will predominately benefit an ineligible organisation (for example PTA’s)
- Individuals (this includes making any payments to individuals on behalf of community groups)
