Community Safety Partnership

We are part of the Community Safety Partnership (CSP), which is made of representatives from a number of agencies to address crime and protect vulnerable people in our districts.

The CSP’s aims are to reduce crime and the fear of crime, whilst building trust and confidence within our communities. The projects we aim to deliver will help:

  • manage demand on services through working together
  • improve safeguarding in physical and virtual spaces
  • target and manage harm and risk
  • improve the local response to serious organised crime and terrorism

You can see the CSP structure, targets and measures of success in the annual CSP Plan, which is informed by the Police Crime Commissioner’s (PCC) Police and Criminal Justice Plan and the Safer Oxfordshire Partnership Intelligence Assessment.

Domestic Homicide Reviews

Domestic Homicide Reviews (DHR) are commissioned by the Community Safety Partnership in response to a death involving domestic violence or abuse.

They are subject to the guidance issued by the Home Office under Section 9 of the Domestic Violence Crime & Victims Act 2004.

The purpose of a DHR is for professionals and agencies involved, such as the police, councils and social services to understand the circumstances that led to the death of a family member.

Reviews then aim to identify how to improve multiple agencies responses to victims of domestic violence and prevent similar tragedies in the future.
