Meet the team and our partners

Berinsfield Garden Village Steering Group

The role of the Steering Group is to identify and manage project delivery risks, make relevant recommendations, maintain project quality, and track progress and timeframes. In addition, the group can approve changes to project scope, budget, and strategy.  SODC organise and administer the Berinsfield Garden Village Steering Group. The aim is to deliver better outcomes for Berinsfield residents, businesses, and community organisations.

The group is chaired by Cllr Robin Bennett, ward Councillor for Berinsfield and Joint Deputy Leader of South Oxfordshire District Council.

Stakeholders on the group include:

  • Berinsfield Parish Council
  • Oxfordshire County Council
  • Sovereign Housing
  • The Berin Centre
  • Berinsfield Health Centre
  • SOHA
  • Homes England
  • Representative organisations for the new development within Berinsfield such as Ptarmigan

Berinsfield Garden Village Team

The primary focus of the Berinsfield Garden Village Team will be to deliver prioritised projects on the Berinsfield Garden Village Delivery Plan :

  • Community Wellbeing Manager: Jayne Bolton gives corporate and strategic oversight of the Berinsfield Garden Village programme
  • Team Leader: Nicola Wyer oversee the strategic delivery of the Berinsfield Community Delivery Plan and coordination of the Berinsfield Garden Village programme.
  • Project Manager: Hendriette Knouwds started December 2023 to manage and coordinating several capital projects in partnership with key stakeholders
  • Project Officer: Alice Summersbee started December 2024 to assist with all project delivery within the village and the Berinsfield Garden Village Steering Group.
  • Community Development Officer: Wendy Foster started August 2024 and her role primarily focuses on working with the local stakeholders including residents, community organisations and the district and parish councils to develop vibrant and self-sustaining communities in Berinsfield.
  • Community Health Development Officer: Fazeelat Bashir started August 2024 and her role is helping to implement the Berinsfield Healthy Place shaping project, which strives to build thriving, sustainable communities where healthy behaviours are the norm and that foster a sense of identity, community, and belonging.

The Garden Village Team maintains close working relationships with our colleagues in the Development & Corporate Landlord Service, who serve as Ptarmigan’s primary point of contact for the masterplan development:
