Didcot prepares to party!

Who’s ready to party? Head to Didcot this summer, the place to be for free and fun activities for everyone to enjoy from the 22 July – 30 August.

The Didcot Garden Party launches on Saturday 22 July with an all-day event at Cornerstone Arts Centre that will start at 11am and run through until 3pm.

DJ Strange will be based in the courtyard with music throughout the day, families can get involved with crafting, high tea, a youth theatre pop up and bubble artists to keep everyone entertained.

Cllr Robin Bennett, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Regeneration at South Oxfordshire District Council, said: “I’m really looking forward to the Didcot Garden Party this summer. The launch day is just a taster of all the brilliant activities that are going to be taking place across the town and local villages.

“There’s something to suit all ages and all the activities are free so I’d encourage everyone to get involved and we look forward to seeing many of you coming along to our events over the summer.”

Cllr Sue Caul, Cabinet Member for Affordable Housing, Development and Infrastructure at Vale of White Horse District Council, said: “The Didcot Garden Party is such a great way to showcase all that the town and surrounding villages have to offer. It creates such a great community spirit; I can’t wait for it to get started now.”

After the launch day the free activities continue and will include four community days with the themes: environment, keeping active, food and finances and Independence Day of Ukraine.

They will be taking place at Cornerstone and the Civic Hall plus there’s family yoga, nature walks, arts and theatre in the courtyard at Cornerstone, skatepark sessions and more.

The Didcot Garden Party brochure is available to pick up from the Cornerstone Arts Centre, Didcot Library, Didcot Civic Hall and the Great Western Park Community Centres.
